I have the audiobook for fool and tried to listen to it the other day. Maybe it was my set and setting or something, but I couldn't stick with it. I'm going to be traveling at the end of the month by myself, so I'll probably try to give it a chance again then.

I listened to his last two on audio and they were great fun and well read. Sometimes the reader makes all the difference. There have a been a few audiobooks that I simply had to quit because of the voice of the reader.

Just wanted to let you know that my new novel, Dirty Little Angels, is now available. I thought you might like it since it’s been compared to Daniel Woodrell, whom I noticed was on your shelf. Here’s a link to the Shelfari page in case you’re interested:

    Thanks,

To be honest, I almost took Wicked back to the library without finishing it. I had trouble getting into it for the first couple of chapters. But then I got hooked in to the story and liked it quite a bit, especially the complexity of the characters.

    Hi Bridget,
I agree about John Steinbeck. In my eyes, he was one of the greatest writers ever. His characters, especially, are works of genius. So few writers can tell you so much about a character with just a couple of lines of dialogue.
