Hey, saw your post about Arthur C Clarke book for Christmas. I am about to start reading his Childhood's End, then maybe some others. I also see you have read some Murakami and are learning Japanese (and Chinese?). I have just recently started studying the kanji after a rudimentary look at particles and grammar as well as learning all the kana. It is such a fun language. Sorry for the rambling stranger danger, I just got excited when I saw our few commonalities.
just noticed your post on chinese lit group. I have read "beijing coma", by ma jian it is about the democracy protests and crackdown and the changing face of china."life and death are wearing me out" I like it so much I have already bought another of his books. unfortunately, neither are like marukami
