Brendan, Shelfari tells me you're planning on reading Till we have Faces. If you ever get around to it, brush up on the story of Cupid and Psyche first. It will probably make a world of difference. The copy I had contained the original story in an appendix, which I unfortunately stumbled on later. I was horribly confused.

Brendan, I noticed you read and liked John McCain's book so I want to recommend "From Private to General" by Jerry Curry. It's a heartstopping memoir written by a truly remarkable man and American Hero. Enjoy and READ ON..

great. The best part of this group is the "In Middle Earth" disscusion. We are writing our character into LOTR without changing the actual books.

I decided to try them after I read your review of #8. I enjoy young adult fantasy, and I've been looking for something new and appealing ever since I finished the Percy Jackson series in May. We like enough of the same things that I'm trusting your taste on this. :)

One of the things that I judge books (and writers) by is how well-executed their plot twists are, so I'll look forward to that aspect of these. :) I noticed that you rated some books in the series 3 stars, as opposed to 4 or 5 for others; I assume that's why you warned me not to give up on them at any point. I'll keep that in mind.

It'll probably be a little while before I get started, what with school, books I'm already reading, and unpaid late fees at the library, but it's next on my list for fiction. :)

I'm planning on children of the mind soon... I also need to finish Fellowship of the Ring (I only have 20 pages left.) And clash of civilizations... But after all of that I will. And I really want to read anthem.

I got it for my birthday a long time ago. I love the music that came with it! I should reread it. It's been a while.

Brendan, I finally made it on. Thanks for the invite. One of the latest books I've read: Life of Pi. Its got a great start and a great ending but drags a little in the middle. The best part: tons of symbolism and it begs to be discussed.
