“Many of the reviews I read for "Something Borrowed" went aomething like "everyone is a sinner but they get a happy ending anyway!" but that was so much of what I liked about it. The characters were flawed and made big, life-altering mistakes, just like real people sometimes do, and sometimes real life isn't as black-and-white as "you cheated therefore the rest of your life will be totally miserable. So when I dove into "Something Blue" I felt somewhat protective of the characters, if only because of my knee-jerk backlash against the loud and disapproving critiques of them. I spent most of the book rolling my eyes at Darcy for being so self-centered and shallow, but ended up taking my own advice and somewhat rooting for her in the end. The actual ending, I think, was a bit forced, and there were a few too many loose ends left flapping around after tying the main characters up in a neat little bow, but I was glad to see some excellent character growth in the book as a whole, so my opinion of the series itself isn't necessarily tarnished.”
