I try to read a wide variety of books, but I do have an affinity for light and fluffy fiction, historical fiction also Young Adult fiction. I also listen to a ton of audio books! I have been trying to go back and read/listen to all those books I always meant to read, but haven't...I'm easily distracted so it's not going as well as planned!:) ... more »

This was a tough book to read. Not only because in general, divorce is sad, but I kept wondering about her husband, Sylvia and her boys. She's so blind-sided by the divorce that I was wondering what was really going on. Any privacy they had is gone. The boys will have a very public account of their parents divorce. She ends the book claiming that she is now friends with her ex-husband and his new wife, but after publication I have to wonder. That's a challenging enough relationship without adding any additional stress. It seems selfish by author. I'm not really sure why I picked this one up.

I think this series has run it's course. The Stephanie love triangle and car explosions are getting old. Too bad, the early ones in this series are fantastic!

My first and last Fern Michaels. Totally ridiculous. Glad others enjoyed it though.

I loved Twilight, liked New Moon and Eclipse and am so disappointed with Breaking Dawn. It totally fell flat. Nothing really happens and when something does, it's incredibly predictible. Imprinting on children is perverse. Renesme is the dumbest name ever. Bella is boring and imagine that, her special power: being self-centered. All the other characters, who S. Meyer had created such interesting backstories for, felt very stock and one-dimensional (particularly the Cullens). I feel cheated.

What a nice story! It had elements of some of my favorite "light" reads, like Practical Magic, the Cedar Cove series, and the Mitford books. Highly reccommended summer reading!

  • Cheer!: Three Teams on a Quest for College Cheerleading's Ultimate Prize

I really enjoyed the first half of this book. The brief history of cheerleading was really interesting and shocking at times. About halfway through the book the author stops being a distanced observer and begins considering herself one of the team and the book dies.

Disappointing. The first two were funny and fresh. This one was lacking all around. Here's to hoping the author gets his stride back in the next offering.
