Joyful Bookworm

As the name implies I am an avid reader. I love just about any genre, but dark fantasy, horror, mysteries/thrillers and paranormal are my favorites. Just gimme a dragon, knight, vampire, werewolf, or time traveler in the mystery-thriller-romance book and I'm happy! I also love history & have a soft spot in my heart for historicals -mysteries,... more »

Hi Joyful! You've been busy adding books, I see. Browsing your shelf is such a joy. I read so much non-fiction for writing research I have a hard time keeping up with great new fiction. Glad to see that's not the case in Oklahoma! Are you ready for spring?
    Best, Pat

Hi Joyful and Happy Holidays to You! Thanks for the request. Yes, I like the paranormal romance, a lot. As you can see from my shelf, once I find an author I like, I try to get all of their books of that series. I also enjoy the work of Black Romance novelist, Brenda Jackson, Francis Ray, Beverly Jackson etc. I'm finding it challenging to get Brenda, Francis and Beverly's earlier work, unless I go on Ebay.

Wow, get 'em! If you want a big healthy read (and I see you're an Anne Rice fan), I definitely have to recommend Anne Rice's Mayfair Witch Chronicles. The Witching Hour is about as thick as a dictionary, but it will have you hooked!

The only other vampire book I can think of to recommend is 'Silver Kiss.' I read it way back in high school during my senior year. While I don't think it compares to Anne Rice (of course, I don't think anything does, lol), I found it to be an interesting read. It's a little horror, a little mystery, a little romance. I see you have 'Twilight' on your shelf. I've been hearing all kinds of things about it, what do you think?

    Hi,

I see you and I both enjoy paranormal books. I hope you like reading romance as well. I've written both romance and paranormal books. You've read Creepin'. I got a kick out of creating the characters in my story, Avenging Angel.

Thanks for inviting me to be your Shelfari friend,

    Janice
