Some of you have expressed interest in being able to post pics of Halloween costumes and such. Well, Katie, Diamondgirl, got the idea of starting up a Yahoo group for the Chiller Shelfari group. We could use it for things like posting possible new avatars that group members could vote on and for voting on monthly authors and such, since that's something we can't really do very easily here on Shelfari.

If you're interested in getting an invite to the new Yahoo group, please send Diamondgirl a private note with your e-mail address.

Don't worry, the Shelfari group isn't going anywhere, we just figured this would be an easier way to do some more things with the group.

it didn't really seem to be going anywhere. I give every book I read 50 pages to grab my attention and this just didn't. There is a lot of information on bugs. a lot of hints at something that happened during the sisters childhood, but I just didn't see it going anywhere. Maybe you will like it better!

What kind of dog is that? He is too cute!!!

    Hi Beth!
Just stopping by to see how things are going for ya? I still have not had the chance to catch an episode of Fringe to see your daughter. I watch so many other shows I keep forgetting to check it out even though I keep seeing the commercial!

You lucky grandma you!!! My sons are fine...don't date but at least they are not hanging around. David is still doing stand up when he can get a 'job'. He is also in an improv. group in New Haven but they are just 'practicing' for the summer; hopefully getting better. LOL. Glad your husband is doing better; I can't even imagine what you guys have been through. Big hugs.

Hi Beth...long time no....how are you?? I am 'dying' to read the Lace Reader and am also curious about the Gargoyle. Have you read Edgar Sawtelle yet??? It seems to be the buzz book in a few of my groups. A few have commented that it is overrated. I'm on the wait list at the library. We'll see. Linda

Hey Beth! First, bless you for starting up EBC again!! Right now I am facing north (towards NJ) & bowing to you! =)

Oh, I'm sorry you're facing long hours at work & coming home so tired. I bet you're missing Jacob, too. When is the next grandchild due?

I love how you've described your cutie - like a lollipop. I'm glad she's great company for Carl. How's he? I hope he's feeling OK.

I'm fine. DH is in Australia this week & returns tomorrow (Sat.) evening. I have no idea how things have gone & am waiting for his report. I'm still determined to not move there, though.

My book addiction has grown by leaps & bounds. One order from Amazon has barely arrived before I'm "itching" to start another one. Is it stress? Impulsive buying? Seeing too many members w/ interesting books? LOL

Give yourself a hug & know I'm thinking of you.

I adopted my dog from the Burlington county Alliance also. They are a wonderful organization. Some day we must meet at the park with our dogs. That would be fun!! Good luck with Maggie. I know you will have a great time with her.

Chiller Sub Genre Game - Every 5 days I will announce what the featured sub genre of horror will be. By noon on the fifth day, I will need everyone participating to send me a personal note with what books they read, the author, and how many pages were read from each book. Any books read that are by the featured months authors will give you double pages for those books. Please indicate if you have already doubled the page amount you have sent me or not. I will keep a running tally of all of the members and the pages they have read. The person with the lowest amount will be eliminated each round, and the winner will receive a prize as yet to be determined. Please do not send in your page counts to "contact the admins" on the front page since one of the admins is participating.

Any questions just ask here or send me a note. I will post the first subgenre today at noon CST, and page counts will need to be turned in by noon CST on August 13, 2008.

Hi neighbor. I am ready "The Art of Racing in the Rain." If you are a dog lover you will enjoy this book. Even if you aren't a dog love I think you will still enjoy it. I am almost at the end and can't wait to see how it ends. Byee
