    I loved Class Castles. It's about a dysfunctional family because of mental illness, and how the kids cope. The author gives you a clear picture of them and their lives. It is not always a happy story, but I know there are real people like them.

    About whether or not you should read, "The Glass Castle." Yes:

    This book draws out, if not entices, all possible human emotions. You learn, you love, you hate, you pause in disbelief, you flip the pages with both excitement and fear. The story is intelligent and full. The author does not minse words or overuse adjectives. She is clear...often, painfully clear. All the way through, you aren't quite sure if you love or hate some of the characters. I think the truth is that you love AND hate them the same.

    This story is one that will stretch your idea of what you believe to be both common sense and intellect in a person, a parent, a grandparent, a man, a woman...a human being.
