Book Whisperer

Hello I am Jackie, 27 year old married mother of two with a deep love for books. I cherished every minute that I can steal away for my books. After looking for a way to share all the news, recommendations, and love I have for the books I read I found Shelfari and Librarything which I check regularly. I also have a blog at... more »

Thanks Jackie, I will keep a look out for them all. I read The Woman in Black over the weekend which was quite scary probably more so cos I read it before bedtime. Have you read it? I'm halfway through Stolen by Lucy Christopher now. Have you read that one too? What did you think? What are you reading at the moment?

Hi Jacki. Have you read anything good lately? How are your kids doing? My kids are doing well... happy and healthy and that's always good. As for me, I've been pretty sick with cold and fever, but hopefully I'll start recovering real soon and the kids won't get it. Anyway, just thought I'd say HI. I just finished reading The Believer by Ann Gabhart and now I am reading The Outsider by her as well. Very interesting stories. Anyway, hope you have a good weekend!!

Hi Jackie, Me again! Just looked up Magic in the Shadows and realised its a series and looks pretty cool. Similar tones to Lisa McManns Wake and Fade in a way as the heroine is having to pay a price for using her supernatural gifts. I've added the trilogy to my book list although I think there's a 4th book too? Let me know how you get on with your book. Bye!

Hi, I know what you mean by kindred souls, thats how I felt as I was going through your shelf too. As I was looking each book up over the net i thought hmmm that looks good and that and that.... LOl I discovered Shelfari completey by accident when I was looking up a Houses Of Night Fan Club and I think its the best idea that anyones come up with as we can all discuss what we have read and thought of the book after. I finished reading Lisa McManns Fade last night and had felt disturbed reading it cos it had been about date rape drugs and teachers sexually abusing kids etc but the fact that the dreams are taking their toll on Janie now is tragic because she's finally found happiness with Caleb and a purpose cos of her job. The title of the 3rd book sounds ominous though. Does Gone refer to her sight do you think? Anyway I'm going to look up The Wrong Adult and Magic in the Shadows so thanks for the recommendation. Take care Jackie and keep in touch. Bye!

Hi Jackie, thanks for adding me. I've just be looking at your shelf and wow you have some fantastic books on display. Some of them are so interesting that I've felt compelled to add the to my wishlist. I would love to get your opinions on some of them and look forward to hearing from you soon. I am currently reading the sequel to Lisa McMann's Wake which is called Fade. Its about a girl who reluctantly gets sucked into peoples dreams/nightmares whenever someone goes to sleep. I can't remember if this book was on your list or not but I'm enjoying reading it at the moment and am looking forward to the release of the third installment Gone in February. What are you reading at the moment and what do you think of it?

    Hello,
Have any good reads lately? I was going through my friend list & I noticed that I havent talked to you in awhile. I think you were one of the people who requested friendship with me when I first signed up. Sorry for not keeping in better touch. I've been swimming through several series of books, but I love it!

Well, I hope your daughter enjoys school and likes her teacher. I always pray that my kids end up with good teachers because when I was a kid, my teachers were mean! LOL. My kids are bored too. They have their moments of attitude... but I have seen girls with their little attitudes and I wouldn't handle that well. But still, I hope someday for a daughter. My hubby and I are thinking of adopting a girl when our youngest boy is old enough for school. But yea... I can see your concern with attitudes. That would be rough. My boys are more into wrestling and just running around like crazy monsters, but they do fight a lot with each other... I tell the older ones to take it outside. LOL.

My kids are excited about going back to school in a couple weeks. My youngest boy (2 year old), he is always getting into something and keeps me going non-stop. The other two boys are so much easier since they're older... lol. It is good that you're a fast reader. I get distracted easily and I have to have quiet in the room in order to concentrate when I am reading something, otherwise, I won't be able to follow the book as well. But with the 2 year old, nothing is quiet with him, so reading is almost impossible when he is around. lol. But yea, I didn't really get into reading until the Harry Potter series... that's when I started reading more often... and then it kind of became an obsession. lol.

I apologize for my slow response! I am sure my son would love to be friends with your little girl. I will tell him about her. So do you read all the time whenever possible? Yeah, it's always hard to read anything with kids under your feet! How old are your kids? My kids are 8 (almost 9), 6, and 2... all boys.... lol. I would love to have a daughter someday. So how long have you been into reading and do you read mostly fiction novels and YA books? I love YA books. I am a hopeless romantic and just like good, clean, sweet romances, you know? But I like good fantasy stories too... Anyway, it is good to meet you too. I hope that we can get to know each other better!!!
