Liked It“Shiver shiver. Great book. Mystery writer heroine and a big, sexy, gruff Scotsman having lots of wall shaking sex on his Scottish farm...the stuff dreams are made of, not to mention the token hilarity that comes standard with Katie.” see full review » see other reviews » |
Didn’t Like It“I usually like Katie MacAlister, but I disliked this one intensely. I't supposed to be funny, but the main female character is a twit. Being stupid isn't funny, it's just stupid. Her other books are pretty enjoyable, so try not to hold this one against her.” see full review » see other reviews » |

Reading this book is like having that refreshing simple sorbet after a slew of gourmet courses. If you’re a chick, dig in and enjoy. Give your mind a rest and percolate in delightful shallowness for a change. Drool over hunky Scots with their sexy brogues and wonder , “Just what do they wear under those kilts?”
Oprah’s Book Club would never be caught dead with this; but, it’s the perfect garnish to that heavenly cocktail at the beach. Ahhh….to sun, sand, and chick-lit. We do need you (secretly).”
“OK I happen to live on a farm, I'm married to a (sometimes) Quiet Alpha Male.. and while he isnt Scottish..... he reminds me of the character in the book.
Living on a farm, even VISITING a farm is no easy task. I found a lot of the antics totally believable because i have seen it happen lol
And I have to say this is the most believable male character that wasnt written by a man.
The method of the main character's thinking/worrying/fears/etc were also believable because its a well known fact that when women dont have a verbal confirmation they start to make up scenarios in their heads and panick and wonder for days.. or even months.. what someone is thinking.
No this book is not bad. In fact if all her books are this realistic then i'm a fan for life! Its so nice and refreshing to find reality and humour mixed into one neat little package.
Bravo Katie! I think you did a wonderful job on this book!”
