Diablo Cody can write like no one else. I love her sardonic style and snappy euphamisms she uses in this book. Many times I found myself laughing out loud at the hillarious outlook she has on the world of stripping! I just LOVE it, and feel even more of how worthy she is of the ACADEMY Award she received in 2008 for "JUNO". If you liked that movie, you will LOVE this book just as much! You rock Diablo! I am so proud of you being a Minnesotan!

a memoir by the former stripper who more recently wrote the screenplay for the film "juno." somehow, i failed to anticipate just how raunchy this book would come across. rather than romanticize its content, it went the route of detailed full disclosure, usually dead pan. i didn't relate to the author, who was enthusiastic about all the predictable angles, a shameless indulgence rather than an expose. worse, the author's voice is reminiscent of the more tedious lines you're willing to overlook...

Things about this book were annoying, but it was fascinating and fun to read.
