What are the chances of a small town girl falling in love with a big rock star and he falls for her too? Zilch! Thats pretty much real life but in this cool romance story not so. It is a interracial love story that just couldn't have been better. I LOVED it. Bryan is in Alabama after the death of his best friend and bandmate. His manager sends him there to a cabin to relax and try and heal his wounds. His best friend had been with him since they were very little and abused children. So it is hard to let go. When he walks into Callie's bookstore to buy some books her and her partner are doing some funky things with ropes and his mind just starts flying with things that he would like to do with this beauty to end his celibacy. One thing leads to another. But Callie is a good girl. A small town girl and it will take more than a rockers smooth charm to win her over.

While it was a bit slow going at first, it did keep me interested in reading more. Midway through, I was starting to enjoy it. It brought out some truly realistic dramas to challenge their relastionship. While the dialog at times was a bit - well - ill worded, it wasn't enough to take away from the story. In the end, I found that I really enjoyed it. It's been a long time since I've enjoyed one, so this was a welcomed change.

    Just An Okay Read

It was an okay debut from Rosylyn Hardy Holcomb, but it just didn't thrill me like some of the other IR novels I've read. Based upon the reviews, I bought Rock Star and I had high hopes for it but, the story just didn't hold my attention. I found myself skipping over paragraphs and peeking ahead to see if it would get better. When I finally finished I was relieved it was over. Strange, because I did enjoy Bryan's character and the depth of his feelings for Callie but, I just did not enjoy the entire ride. I couldn't even bring myself to care about the so called romance that was supposed to be blossoming between him and Callie. It's definitely not the worst romance I've ever read, but, in good consciousness couldn't give it a higher rating than 3 stars.

A wonderful story with depth, memorable characters, and undeniable chemistry and passion between the leads.
