With a Pulitzer Prize-winning author, I anticipated an outstanding story with this book. I've walked the Bridge of Sighs in Venice, so that added to my eagerness to read this novel. But as I expectantly & optimistically (just call me "Lou-Lou"--the main character) read this 527-page work, I found that it just went on and on and on with nothing really happening right up to the end. While Russo is a skillful writer and weaves an intricate story with his characters inner and outer-worlds, all I could think was that I wanted it to be over. I had "That Old Cape Magic" on my to-read list, but I don't think I can bear reading another one like this.
