I read this book in one sitting. A beautifully detailed novel which explores the various pains and joys families are uniquely able to bring to or inflict upon each other. Given the depth of such pain and joy, forgiveness is both harder to earn and to bestow. Juniper Tree Burning is a fully realized character, and it is a tribute to the author's talents that no matter how low Juniper sinks or how crazy she seems to get, we sympathize with and can even empathize to a certain extent. Everyone's heart is in the right place in this book but that doesn't mean they always do the right thing.

This book appealed to me because I can relate well to some of the emotions of the main character. A story not so often or well related from that point of view. Perhaps a bit too long, but engaging to me.
