“All I have to say is keep reading. Remember that the second half of the book is in the structure of a detective taking statements from numerous individuals that knew Balano and Lima. The dates and times have less to do, in a fisrt read, with them than their actual interactions, past or present, with the interviewees. This is such a monumental acheivement. I feel sickened every time I realize we've lost this prose master. ”
