“Little needs to be said of the young Alice who wandered into a land of her wildest imagination fueled by a youthful spirit that grows a bit tired of the chaos. You likely know the story behind Carroll's masterpiece. There's a chance a young you watched the cartoon on the television or visited the cinema in more recent years to see Wonderland brought to life with vibrant colors and modern technology. We know this story and generally enjoy this story merely because we are. Humans dream. We imagine. We wonder. Here is a world created from nothing, from the thoughts of one author, now a well known thing. Who doesn't want that?
I, however, was slightly disappointed in the book. I don't know what I was expecting as I honestly did not recall much of the story. Something legendary, I supposed, and while the world of Wonderland certainly is, the story fail to win my heart like other children's stories have. Though I will likely carry fond memories of reading this as it was my travel reading to/from Macedonia (when I wasn't sleeping on the planes... which was the majority of the time).
