“I had high expectations for the book by just reading the cover ( I know, I know). But now that I am about 20 pages into it I realize that I am not going to finish the book. There is no finesse to Crowther's writing style, and little beauty in her language. The title "The Saffron Kitchen" conjures images more reminscent of "Like Water for Chocolate" but it does not deliver the passion and emotion that I was expecting. Others may like it. ”
