Description

Sadiq Hedayat (1903-1951) is one of the 20th Century's greatest literary figures. Born in Iran and educated in France, his works reflect the themes of alienation and self-destruction so prevalent in the years between the two world wars. This is a collection of short stories. The title story, "The Stray Dog," is one of his best-known works and is a classic study of rejection as told from the point of view of the animal.
