“An excellent adventure but not for the lighthearted reader. It is a twisted journey through events that should never befall a child. Not too detailed in descriptions of what would be traumatic events, which I thought was a plus. It was disturbing enough without details. I really loved this book.”

I had trouble rating this, I am so picky with my 5 stars selections...
but this one gets a 5, because it is better than a 4, for sure!

“Coupled with her attractively muddy and drab illustrations, this novel has an over-the-top comic book feel to its touchingly twisted coming-of-age story. Every character is a caricature of his or her self, and every tense situation is as exaggeratedly unappealing ("gross" is a decent word, too) as the author could have made it. An excellent read.”
