Not as much fun as his fiction, but still enjoyable. Sadly, the most fascinating story is the first one, about the sex festival… and that is the shortest story/essay in the book, and offers the least amount of explanation.

Chuck’s fiction is far superior, but if you are a fan, it is...

The only essay in here I'd read twice would be his profile on Marilyn Manson. Awesome. Everything else is interesting like a midget giving birth in front of a live audience-which Chuck has probably seen and written about. For all this book's depictions of real-life freakishness, I'd just as soon...

It was nice to read a true side of Chuck. Even though a lot of his books are things hes experienced in real life put together. I learned a lot of things I never knew about him which was really cool. All in all, another great Chuck P. book to add to the collection!

Couldn't decide on how many stars. It's a compilation of short stories and some were great, others, not so much.

an easy read full of subversive weirdness. i finished it a couple of weeks ago and some of the stories are still rolling around in my head. not because they were particularly well written (because they weren't) just because they were so freakin...well...weird.

It's ok. Somehow it lacks something. Don't know. I end up skipping a lot of the short stories because it doesn't appeal me as much as some of the rest. Palahniuk is better at novels than short stories.

A glimpse of truth into Chuck P's life. I dug it. It was an interesting read about him & his father, but it was kind of hard to get through. A lot of bullshit among the diamonds in this book.

I enjoyed this book because I really like this author and the short stories show the research he does in order to write as well as he does. It also gives a good idea as to how he thinks. The portriats section I did not like as much, but the first and last section contain some really interesting stories.
