This is a classic--a small book but a beauty for those who are willing to delve into mysticism. Have read it four times and plan to keep on.

A good book explaining many different areas of traditional archery.

A classic, short book, easy to read, with a quiet and steady narrative voice. This was my second read of Zen in the Art of Archery. I first read it in the early 70s, although I barely remembered what it said. It teaches that one must learn to disregard the self, to achieve purposeless detachment to attain "It"-- "something which can neither be understood, or laid hold of, and which reveals itself only to those who have experienced it."

I was told to read this book by my college Action Theatre teacher Sarah Hickler. A tool for understanding one's own creativity and performance or really whatever you want to relate it to in your life.

It makes me appear very enlightened when people see it on my bookshelf.

How come nobody's written Zen in the Art of Climbing?

A standard. Not the best writing, but a good story none the less. Worth reading.

beautiful, reminiscent of zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance, but a little less beat-you-over-the-head about it. a short read but not a quick read, if you do it right =)
