I loved the love story between hamlet and Ophelia and the tragedy that changes her life forever.

It is evident that Klien is passionate about 'Hamlet'; her passion is seen through her writing and translates into her reader even if you don't find Shakespeare interesting. She makes the play more accessible to modern readers without deviating too far from the original piece and maintains the personalities of the characters exactly as they are seen in the play. What I found really interesting is reading about each character's past, which allows you to dive deeper into their psychi and better understand their motives and actions during the dreadful events of the play.

I also enjoyed meeting the happier, loving, pre-father's-death-and-mother's-over-hasty-marriage Hamlet. I liked the way Klien uses the imagery of stages, acting, Janus and masks: a sign of respect to Shakespeare, while incorprating themes like a-play-within-a-play, a women's role in a man's world, God's will, sin and punishment etc.

Having always been fascinated by Shakespeare’s semi-defiant females - like Ophelia, Gertrude, Viola and even Desdemona - what I loved the most about this book is seeing the tragedy from Ophelia's rebellious and disobedient perspective and seeing her come out of it almost completely unscathed.

However, even with the irony of ‘Get thee to a nunnery’ (Act III, Scene 1), I thought the book began to drag a bit in the third part. Nevertheless, this book is an excellent read on the whole and I recommend to everyone, doesn't matter if you have read ‘Hamlet’ or not.

This book was a very insightful story through the eyes of Hamlets widow Ophelia. I enjoyed it very much and wish that it didnt.

A young adult and modern look at one of Shakespeare's tragic characters: Ophelia. You will find this novel is accessible for those who don't understand Shakespeare.

This book was so much longer than it needed to be. I really wanted to love this book, but the middle part dragged. The ending was okay; I would have enjoyed it more had I been so frustrated by the middle of the book.

this book is the story of Hamlet, as seen by Ophelia. It is a romance, and it tells about her life and the role she played in the tradgedy.
