“I thought this was a really interesting book. But then I like history and sailing. But this is really more about the advancement of technology. I liked it.”

Yes | No“Sobel tells a good tale about Harrison and his clocks and watches as he doesn't discover something, but devotes a life to perfecting a simple idea that we all take for granted. Another history book about the era of world exploration that reveals a whole new side to the story.”

“I loved this book. Being a former math teacher, I appreciated how Sobel took a rather mundane topic and brought it to life. I definitely look forward to reading more books by this author. ”

“This is an account of the history of the discovery of longitude and how to measure it. Sobel's writing is clear and engaged my interest. I could keep track of the characters and cared about how it turned out for them.”
