“I felt it dragged on too long. Story was ok but repetitive. Love triangle, sort of. Emily Walcott, tomboy, has big dreams. She does not care about society rules. She helps her dad in his livery and is taking veterinarian courses through the mail.
Tom Jeffcoat comes to town and builds a competitive livery. She hate him. (First clue) Emily is supposed to marry her life long friend who loves her desperately. She falls in love with Tom when she realizes what she feels for Charles. Subplots about her dad, her dying mother and Fannie also. Just too long”

“Sparks fly when Tom Jeffcoat, new in town, decides to open his livery business close by. Emily is sure this will cause problems her family doesn't need. Her father owns a livery, too, and is already trying to keep the family together despite her mother's being near to dying. Emily is definitely headstrong, is a tomboy and gives Tom lots of grief - until they start to find interest in each other. Then different kinds of sparks fly! There is great character development here, wonderful descriptions of Wyoming in the 1800's, and strong family scenes.”Marie T wrote this review Monday, May 4, 2009.
