“Set in contemporary times, the author describes an India that should be completely familiar, and by extension, boring. Gurcaharan Das however brings a very fresh perspective to the book, intertwining his own struggle as a sales exec with the country's evolution. And the book is worth reading just by virtue of the brilliant and always surprising anecdotes.”

Lots of interesting facts and examples. Highly recommended to the youngsters who must know about the evil of License Raj and the cost that the people of India paid by losing almost two generations before the reforms of 1991 came. ”

Being former India CEO of P&G, Gurcharan Das, has interwoven India's economic history with his personal accounts, which makes it all the more interesting. This book is best for someone like me, who was till yesterday, totally ignorant about what's going on in India. Politically, socially, economically. This book taught me how political decisions can have such a profound effect on national economy and hence lives of millions of our country men. In my younger days, I used to wonder why should I vote? After all, I have nothing to do with politics or politicians. This book has taught me, why. ”

only problem as with most of these genre of books..it becomes repetitive after some time...as chapter after chapter u get the same idea only a new instance to prove the same..”
