Orthodoxy is a most wonderful and puzzling book. Chesterton is a man of blazing insight and gymnastic poetry, but his weakness seems to be a contradiction between his love for tradition and his desire for wrecking society in order to make it continually better. And yet there is a sense I get...

Some of it is dated. The best parts are his ruminations about madness which inspired Becker, among others.

    Chesterton's points are just as strong and valid as during his lifetime. The issues of today are the same as in Chesterton time. They only have different names. His common sense approach adds strength to his arguements.

    It took me several reads to start to grasp some of the bigger ideas, but the man is genius and funny at the same time. Definitely worth the read.
