Fourteen-year-old twins Scott and Jamie Tyler have never known who they are or where they came from, but they have always known that they possess extraordianry powers. when Scott is kidnapped by the sinister Nightrise Corporation and Jamie is framed for murder, they realize that they must use those powers if they are going to survive.
But Jamie is catapulted thousands of years into the past, bringing him face to face with the full horror of the old ones. Here Jamie learns that he is one of the five GateKeepers whose power is all that stands in the way of eternal chaos. Togeather at last, the five must fight the massed forces of evil. And they must win.

  • Matt Freeman: A serious, teenage, gatekeeper. He was the main character in the first book and the second. He managed to close the first gate. His parents died when he was very little. He was sent to live with his aunt Gwenda and was caught stealing in a secret warehouse and became part of a government project called the LEAF project. He then lived with an old lady who was one of the Old Ones, an evil force of creatures who try to destroy the world by opening th gates.
  • Pedro: One of the Five. He was in Peru until Matt found him. He is a healer.
  • Scott and Jamie: Scott and Jamie are telepathic twins. They are two of the five gatekeepers.
  • Richard: A newspaper reporter who took care of Matt Freeman after the closing of the first gate. He is about 30-38 years of age and is involved with the Gatekeepers even though he is not one.
