Very basic stuff.

I liked, however, the chapter about how to discover what your strengths are. I would recommend reading this chapter and to skip the rest.

Anything by Buckingham is worth reading. I love the strengths philosophy and this book really helps you to pinpoint how to effectively use them.

This book taught me a lot about what gets me excited about my work and how to get more of it and do less of the parts that drain and bore me. I highly recommend it to everyone who is less than energized and thrilled with their work life.

Notes - Page # 55 - You have development needs - areas where you need to grow, areas where you need to get better - but for you, as for all of us, you will learn the most, grow the most, and develop the most in your areas of greatest strength. Your stength are your multiplier. Your strengths magnify you.
Page # 63 - I would love to play on my strengths. I would love to spend most of my time refining and sharpening my strengths, but I can't. I don't have luxury. I work on a team, and the team needs more from me. The team needs me to put aside my strengths and do whatever it takes to help the team win. Surely this is the right, most responsible thing for me to do as a team member.

Great book- Marcus as in his other books gets into the practical action step type stuff -hard to get through, but makes it more applicable.
