I read this over 5 times, and still i think it's my favourite of Shakespeares play. I love the strength in Viola (Sebastian), and the wisdom. Do read it if you find it..

this is waaaay better than the movie, She's The Man. amanda bynes got to play viola (and sebastian), a role that i would definitely kill for if im an actress. the movie used almost everything that was in the book (even the city of Illyria, but they made into a school...O_o), however, nothing can beat the real thing. im sure the director had good intentions and i believe he's a great fan of the play, but it's just not good enough. just read the book or watch the play...

This is my second favorite of all Shakespeare's plays (second only to a Midsummer Night's Dream). In this play, Shakespeare plays with the idea of gender and how it is performed and percieved. I would love to see this play performed someday by an all male cast, as it was in Shakespere's day, since many of Shakespere's jokes allude to the rediculousness of a male actor portraying a woman who's pretending to be a man. Viola is my favorite Shakespearian female lead. She's smart, sexy, and brave.

Twelfthnight is the story of twins, where the braveness of men and fathfullness of women are shown.

Anything by Shakespeare gets top billing. The man was a genius. I saw this play in London at the Globe Theater. Seeing is definitly better than reading, when it comes to a play. Especially if it involves cross-dressing twins. One of my classes at school acted this play out last year. They loved it. Please don't confuse Amanda Bynes' "She's the Man." It's cute, but not Shakespeare.
