• Stefan Salvatore: Elena's vampire boyfriend, who appeared in the first book. He is dark and handsome, and not really tall, but he puts a big smile on Elena's face!
• Elena: Now a vampire. Stefan's girl (turned by Damon).
• Damon Salvatore: Stefan's older brother, who is a vampire.
• Meredith: One of Elena's best friends. She believes in the supernatural, and is convinced she is a psychic.
• Bonnie: Small, with a heart shaped face, and big curly hair, Bonnie is adventerous, innovative, and sometimes underly cautious. She's also phychic, something she inherited from her grandmother and initially, her ancestors, who were druids.
• Matt: Elena's ex boyfriend who still has deep feelings for her.
• Margaret: Elena's four year old little sister. She has blonde hair.
• Aunt Judith: The aunt who took Elena and her sister in after their parents' death
• Robert: Aunt Judith's fiance.

i don't know exactly , but , didn't katherine herself say that she had killed klaus ? then , how and why he came to fell's church in 4th book ?
Klaus is an old one so he can't die and he comes because Katherine was killed and he cares for her.
