there's a thread of sorrow binding memory away throughout this series, a high fantasy that follows in the tradition popularized by Tolkien, of epic quests and lost loves and ancient evil that cannot rest.

there's also the sense of age, especially in Archer Blackcloak and Tess Birdsong. the first is a vagabond warrior, no home, no obvious history; and the latter a woman with no memory, the only survivor of a massacre.

in this world, the First Born was as if cursed by the gods for waging a cataclysmic war in the name of love. according to legends, the powerful sons of the Firstborn king had loved an Ilduin, a race of women with magical powers, so much that they brought chaos to the world just so one could have her.

This was a very good, but only for extreme fantasy lovers. It is a second book in a series, which i didnt know when i decided to read it. It is about a girl named Tess who finds she had magical healing powers. She can talk to her friends in her head because they have the same powers as she does. It was really good, and nothing like i expected. It was mostly talking about the wars that they were going through, which was a lot ( half the book). She also finds that she is very special and it seems like she is in love with a man that she meets named Archer. I would recommend it to anyone. The reading difficulty is about *** because some of the vocabulary is confusing and old.

The Ilduin trilology. Shadows of Prophecy(2nd book) i read this first, then I've read the last book, and then i read the first book last. That's the order i found them. A book worthy of Lord of the rings I wish this could be turned into a movie. I love their names the lead guy is Archer Blackcloak (he does wear a black cloak a lot). Then Tess Birdsong the woman who mysteriously appeared among the slaughtered caravan with no memory of who she is and how she came to their wolrd. Is now traveling among the immortal and the Anari people. The white wolf will bow to no one except to the prophesize White Lady. Amids all the chaos and propecy, Tess is terrified of what is expected from her. And in the Anari temple the Idluin sisters will discover that they're Destiny was set long before they we're born and at a terrible price.
