another good start to a series for this author. as always the characters are well thoughtout and fun to follow and the scenes that need to be are steamy and the back story on the main characters is full and helps the story develop without being too mysterious or overbearing

Heroine with a difficult past in the West Indies is the sister of a new earl, and owner/manager of a shipping business she has no intention of giving up. She's not inclined to marry, but she's in the mood to have an affaire, and then she meets an attractive, mysterious nobleman at a relative's party. THEN she's asked by the government to discover if he's a spy. He grew up in Russia, the younger son of a younger son married to a Slavic heiress, and never expected to wind up in England—his Russian background is why the government suspects him. There's very little suspense in this story, but it serves to keep the plot moving. It's a very good story.
