This hilarious book promises to be one helluva joy ride!!The characters in the book are quite cliche but this makes it all the more enjoyable, and by the end of the book you are clutching your stomachs wild with laughter!!A true master-piece &a must-read for all Indians!!

done remember much, but i had enjoyed reading this book. The mild satire and true life experience of an Indian after landing in America falsifies many of our feel good ideas of America.

The start of the book becomes a wee bit cliched (for us Indians) but once you proceed further it makes for a very entertaining & funny read...

Its a funny story about a typical Indian villager visiting the US and unveils a series of events from opening a tap to getting laid. Its a good stress reliever

It is a literary version of american pie (almost). Filled with cynical, prejudiced notions of both india and america. Not exactly a masterpiece, but there are parts of the book which are genuinely funny and entertaining.

Fun (semi-autobiographical?) coming-of-age read with some decent insights: country Brahmin Indian comes to midwest college and encounters much typcial, some sterotypical, and some poignant insights into both Indian and US/midwest culture, people, minority, etc. Definitely young male perspective, however has value beyond. Not a waste of time. There should be more in this genre. US students should definitely read books like this, in part for the insight to other cultures and also to help open the door into "foreign students" and what some are dealing with.
