“Haunting and acerbic. This novel will leave you speechless and aching. ”

There is such a big voice narrator at work here, an omniscient narrator who loves to tell stories about all her beloved people, even if she doesn't exactly approve of all their actions and decisions. And perhaps, just a tiny bit, this voice of authority, irritates me. Maybe the world and humans just seem too complex and changeable for anyone to be able to make these kind of unequivocal statements.
But, you know what, I still think it's brilliant. ”
“Possibly my least favorite book that I've ever had the displeasure of reading.”
