“I love the way Morrison tells a story, this one is not my favorite, but still good. ”

I really couldn't put this book down. A lot of people, in reviews I've read of Morrison's work, have trouble with the allusions and euphemisms Morrison uses in her writing, but that's the very thing I like about it. If you have never read Morrison, and have always wanted to, I would suggest "Sula" to start with. ”

There were a lot of symbolisms that showed how oppressed the African-American were at those times in America. With the book, I saw a glimpse of how they lived and the actions they had to resort through. However, I think I haven't grasped all that Miss Morrison would like to portray and say.”

It's about struggle and demonstrates life of those who never really lived up to be who they wanted to be but failed in life, where stricken with disease, killed, cheated on, mamed, or shunned from society. This is a short read, an afternoon and a morning (174 pages). Lessons are taken in a sort of you hate yourself anyway sort of way.”
