“Hard going and a little academic for me for what I expected to be a book to reveal all! However it is beautifully put together and shows a great deal of dedication and respect for the fine line between madness and genius! ”

Also she "normalizes" M/D by exposing the life and times of so many creative individuals. ”

This is an incredible book with an appendix in the back of various creative people who have suffered from the illness. So it's not only an interesting read, but a handy reference book for those who find psychology fascinating.”

It could have been a very dry treatise, but instead it flowed really well. Jamison made her points without resorting to unintelligible jargon or stuffy academic style. That she proves there is a link between manic-depression and artistic genius is pretty irrefutable (though she is careful to say that the two can be mutually exclusive) and definitely food for thought. ”
