“I just pulled this book off the library shelf because of the title. I was pleasantly surprised to find a good cozy mystery by an author I had never heard of. The book is by an Australian author and set in Australia in the late 1920's. The detective is one Phryne Fields, detective who is also rich. A man dies in a bookstore and the proprietor is arrested for murder. Phyrne is convinced that the man was not murdered by the bookstore owner, but by someone else and sets out to determine who actually did the deed. A glimpse of Jewish life in Australia provides the background for this tale. A good read and I was most surprised when the murderer was revealed. I plan to read more in this series. If you do read this book go to the authors web page and look at the Glossary. There is some Australian slang used in the book and the glossary provides the meanings.”
