To be frank, this is not Kinsella's best work. Readable, but pales in comparison to the Shopaholic series.

Samantha Sweeting is a high-flying lawyer who is about to be made partner in the London firm where she works. Then she discovers she has made a mistake which costs her clients 50 million pounds.

She runs off and ends up at a house in a village in Gloucestershire where, by some misunderstanding, she is hired as a domestic help. She has no idea how to cook or iron, but tries anyway. Her employers have no idea who she really is.

A laugh-out-loud funny book that I read in one day. My favorite chick-lit!

I love Sophie Kinsella and this book was right up there, but not as good as the shopaholic series and Can You Keep A Secret. It had you rooting for the main character in a surprising way, but I found some parts unsatisfying. And also, I wish there was more to the end.

I have loved everyone of the books in Kinsella's `SHOPAHOLIC' series and I equally enjoyed her first stand alone novel ` CAN YOU KEEP A SECRET' now Kinsella brings us her second stand alone and sixth novel to date and I absolutely adored this one as much as I did the others. I pre-ordered the `UNDOMESTIC GODDESS', something that I rarely do (okay so I only pre-ordered it two days before it was released but that is beside the point), because I couldn't wait to get my hands on a copy. I tore into it as soon as it arrived and didn't want to put it down! Sophie Kinsella writes with an ease that is difficult to match and a wit that literally keeps you laughing out loud.

The plot to this novel is one that particularly intrigued me; a high powered and highly stressed lawyer for one of the top law firms in London makes a huge mistake that costs her company millions. Now that she has discovered the blunder rather than stick around to face the music she flees to the English countryside where, under false pretenses, she gets a job as a housekeeper. As someone who's never cooked a meal in her life nor cleaned a toilet let alone an entire house she enlists the help of the sexy grounds keeper and his mother to turn her from an Undomestic Goddess to a domestic treasure that this family cannot live without.

The `UNDOMESTIC GODDESS' had me laughing harder than I have laughed since...well, since I read Kinsella's last book. I highly recommended this book to anyone who is a fan of Kinsella's work and if you have never read anything by her the `UNDOMESTIC GODDESS' is as good a place to start as any.

I could totally relate to this book, working in the legal world. I know what it feels like to lose something amungst the piles of papers on your desk!

I am not usually the chick-lit type, and although The Undomestic Goddess is an enjoyable enough read, it didn't strike me as a masterpiece of the genre. Still, it is entertaining enough to keep you interested until the end.
