That bit about breeding and training hogs so that they're especially vicious? That's the kind of bad guys I like. And I really, really liked the way this one ends.”

It picked up several years after his escape from custody. Clarice, the protagonist from Silence, gets blamed for an arrest gone-wrong, and finds her career plummeting, with the idea of capturing Hannibal Lecter her only chance of survival. Meanwhile, Hannibal is enjoying life in Italy, until Mason Verger, a former patient and victim of Dr. Lecter's, finds information on Hannibal's survival. Interested in Verger's bribe, an Italian cop (who is also having career issues) picks up on the hunt. Several deaths later, the book closes up with a slightly confusing, but overall good and unexpected ending. In the true Hannibal fashion, you are left wondering who the good guys and the bad guys are, Thomas Harris somehow makes the cannibal a hero. If you liked Red Dragon, Silence of the Lambs, or Hannibal Rising (by far the best in the series), you should definitely continue with Hannibal.”
