One of the most profound reading experiences of my life. In asking questions about fate and purpose, Wilder manages to touch on what makes us essentially human. Heart breaking and beautiful.

    (By the way, I thought the movie was awful. Not representative of the book at all, and one of the few times that the critics were right!! I wouldn't recommend cheating and watching the movie first or instead. Blech.)
