It is a real let down and as a reader I felt betrayed. The set up for the character didn't match the story's end, and I found the plot used for "wrapping things up" implausable. Overall, however, an enjoyable read, especially if you love fantasy as I do.”

Brilliantly written ... one of the best books of the whole series ...”
“A powerful little fantasy story for any emotional teenager. I thought I was Raistlin while reading this book. It gives DragonLance readers a close up look at their world right after the Cataclysm.”

It really delves into the relationship between Raistlin and Caramon, and brings them out of their stereotypical boxes. It develops Caramon's independence, and also Raistlin's sympathy for others- but it also shows that Caramon still needs his brother and that Raistlin can be purely evil. It's really a fantastic book.”
