“Complex yet plausible. A good read.”

A magnificent work like she always does!
Totally recommend it as a read.”
“This is the first novel by Agatha Christie and the first Hercule Poirot mystery. A great place to start. I really enjoyed this one.”

But then, why did I find myself reading it late into the night, turning page after page by the dim glow of the bedside lamp, and literally blowing through the leaves to find at last whodunnit—and how—and why? It's a brisk and intriguing read!
The Mysterious Affair at Styles is Agatha Christie's first novel. Published in 1920, it introduced the world to the genius of the foppish and persnickety Belgian detective, Hercule Poirot. That'd be an entertaining experience all by itself, but there's a complex murder mystery—complete with stately British drawing rooms, boudoirs très privés , a smorgasbord of dangerous pharmaceuticals, and a lustful farmer's wife—thrown in to boot!
If you haven't read this archetypal classic of the genre, well... It's time!”
