I'm glad there are more in this series. Jack and the K'da poet warrior are a great team and I look forward to seeing their partnership develop.

Reminds me of Heinlein's juveniles--and, in my opinion, that's a good thing! It did take me a minute sometimes to realize who was 'speaking' for each chapter, though. No sex, no drugs, just good old violence (and therefore, on the cover, for ages 10 and up--but I'd set it at least a year, more likely two later than that).

If you like a good space romp, then pick up the first in the Dragonback series! Jack has been trained by his uncle as a thief, but now his uncle is dead, he's trying to turn over a new leaf and also avoid a rap on a crime he didn't commit. Enter Draycos, a member of a dragonish alien race called the K'daa, who are attempting to relocate to avoid genocide. Jack unwittingly saves Draycos when his advance fleet is attacked. The two make a bargain to mutually help the other out--Jack will find out who was behind the attack on the K'daa if Draycos will help find out who is framing Jack. This is a thoroughly enjoyable adventure, which has lead to 4 more books in the series to date. Pick one up and enjoy!
