I loved this from the get-go. Delightful, goofy, wordy Halprin fun.
Enjoy it over coffee...”
“This is not my favorite Helprin book, but I loved it nonetheless. I hate coffee and thought his tacts to avoid coffee were hilarious. It's a wonderful, complex tale. I guess from the comments below it's not for everyone, but it worked for me!”

No one else seemed to take to it quite the way I did. (The main character's hatred of coffee is especially amusing to those of us who love a good cup of joe.) I've tried reading other Mark Helprin books and haven't enjoyed them nearly as much. I think this book is a departure from his others. ”
