If you love watching romantic comedies on the big screen, you'll love This Pen for Hire. It deals with a murder with plenty of mystery, romance and a hint of humor to keep you laughing and guessing whodunit to the final end. This is a good quick read to keep you crying happy tears all the way to...

Pretty average. The main character was pretty pathetic too. She spent half the book talking about how massive her butt was and about how her thighs were always about to start a fire from the friction of rubbing together when she walked.

Worth reading, a little slow to start. Plot is similar to other amateur sleuth mysteries but not redundant.

I was interested in this book because the main character was named Jaine Austen, but other than the fact that Jaine writes, she bears no resemblance to her famous namesake. The book was fun, but there was a bit too much innuendo and occasionally not-so-innuendo stuff for me to endorse it. I won't bother picking up the sequels.

I liked the idea of the story and would consider reading the rest of the series later, but I did not feel a connection to the characters. The main character was a little annoying and I felt that the author repeated herself a little too much. The author did try to make this book funny, but, in some places I felt that she tried a little to hard.

Freelance writer Jaine Austen has taken on another job as a sleuth. An amusing and lighthearted mystery, perfect to while away an afternoon.
