“Not only did the book assumed that you knew who the characters were, since there was a previous book with Smiley, but transitions were often non-existent, and I had a hard time trying to figure out what was going on. The author never gave us enough information to figure out who was the mole on our own so it really came out of the blue.
But most of all, it was about the terrible reality of growing old... yawn. Not what I look for in a spy novel. I'm amazed I finished the stupid thing.”
“This book lacks the intimacy of "The Spy Who Came In From The Cold" but it is a well written story that keeps the reader guessing.”

It features the diminutive, irrepressible George Smiley being given the onerous task of ferreting out the mole at the Circus. I also watched the BBC production - Alec Guinness gave a hauntingly accurate performance, though I didn't see much of the vaunted Smiley awkwardness.”

This time I persisted when I got lost into the British references and was hooked until the end. The spy genre is not my favorite, but this I liked.”

Spy fiction like I've never read before.
Very different from others in its genre, slow and very understated.
No fast moving plot here, but excels at the psychological game of the spy craft.”
“Fantastic Book”

You are taken in to a secret world. Le Carre builds the world fills it with true characters and gives us admission into a world that coexists with ours. The need to turn the page was there even thought I knew who the mole was it is that good.
My favorite spy novel.”
