i disagree, the book's fundamental structure is that of a romance. Nearly every chapter is a self-contained adventure. Also, despite Robin's human flaws and traits (which are necessary to write a decent charecter) he is a "romantic hero" to the people he assists. He may not be super-human, but Robin isn't limited by typical human imperfections.

And I bet those essays were good. ;-)

Well, I think it is a comedy, primarily because I do not see Robin as anything but a normal man...I don't think he is special enough to be a true "romantic hero." But I must say, I read some pretty presuasive essays that argue it as a romance. :-)

I think it's a romance. The plot fits better with that description and the series of events.

I think books can. The only difference is that in literature "romance" and "comedy" mean completely different things than they do in hollywood. Romance refers to a book who's plot is a series of events and the main character usually is somewhat of a super-human, like King Arthur. A comedy's plot focuses on a change in society and the characters are more normal.

So, is it a COMEDY or a ROMANCE?

I would clssify it as romance, personally, due to the nature of the plot. But I've also heard people call it a comedy, because of the characters. What do you think?
