“The author explains how soccer just grabs you and won't let go. His obsession started the summer the World Cup came to the US. It peaked during the nine months he spent in a remote Italian village following the local side, which had inexplicably played its way to Serie B. I blame my obsession on thrree facts: I started playing soccer at the age of 12; I started working with Liverpool fan Lee Watkiss; then I was in Germany a month before World Cup '06. Now I too can't get enough of the beautiful game. This incredible book only feeds the beast.”
