This is an excellent, encouraging book about living in grace and freedom. The metaphor of two paths to walk on and two rooms to live in helped me understand what the authors were saying. This is a great book to encourage Christians to be real with God and each other.

Apart from the Word, TrueFaced has had the greatest influence upon my spiritual life: it deals with grace and what difference it should make in daily life, and it talks about revealing your true face, trusting God and others with who you really are. It has a message I think everyone should read.

When others are not being "real" with us it is frustrating as we want to form a friendship with the person inside and only get the shell. Often our facades make our sins more apparent rather than being a means of looking good. I was able to reflect a lot about the importance of transparency and being a safe person to be with.

This book rocked my world. It was a slow read for me, because I had to really think hard on what they were saying to me. This is going to be a book I read more than once.

Not long after experiencing a re-born, new life, saved entry into the journey of being a follower of Jesus, one becomes enmeshed with the fellow travelers. So it is that we carry our interpersonal issues with us as saints. Thrall, NcNicol and Lynch develop a rendering of the causes, the healing, and the launch forth of saints who, as victims of grace, take bold steps to take off their masks, thereby revealing who they truly are in Christ. The need for enormous trust in God for the courage, the commitment, and the surrender to be so self-disclosing to ourselves, to God, and to others, is inescapable. I found myself re-reading sections, and spending very extended deliberate time in some of areas, realizing that an attitude of pleasing God conflicts with trusting God. Especially revealing was the concept that only by acknowledging my needs can I uncover portals for love to come into my life. "TrueFaced" is a call to step forth in integrity, truth, and surrender, to the full call of powerful impact in our world.
