“Joan Johnston, “The Bodyguard” is a sultry tale of a woman willing to do anything to save her clansmen. Katherine McKinnon is committed to her promise she gave at her father’s death bed. She must find a way convince the Duke of Blackhorne to marry her and produce an heir. It is the only way to join their families and connect what her clan has lost in the past. Someone is out to kill the Duke of Blackthorne. He is left for dead in the sea and wakes with no knowledge of who he is. He struggles to find answers to his identity but when he learns the truth. Can he still love Katherine even when she betrays him? I liked the story but I was a little disappointed with the storyline the ending just seemed somewhat rushed. “The Bodyguard” is an entertaining and interesting read it does keep you turning the pages but I do feel the author writing style was llittle choppy in parts.”
